Pro Arthritis Profile by Thyrocare is a comprehensive health check for middle-aged to senior citizens to check for arthritis, a disease related to inflammation of the joints or joint pain. It includes 11 profiles and 57 tests which check not only for arthritis, but other body conditions as well. Arthritis is particularly a problem for senior citizens, for whom this test is highly recommended.
Why is this test important :
This package has tests to check for :
– Arthritis elements, which indicate one or more forms of arthritis eg osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis
– Complete blood counts, which are related to many disorders such as fatigue, anemia, infections and others
– Diabetes
– Electrolytes that help in proper heart and brain function
– Reactive arthritis, which is a painful version of inflammatory arthritis
– Lipids which are associated with heart disease or stroke
– Some liver functions
– Health of kidneys, which clean the blood and produce urine
– Some thyroid functions
– Vitamins which influence bone strength and iron levels
Process :
These tests requires 10-12 hours of fasting (except water). The lab technician will collect blood sample from the patient. This will be processed in a lab and the report provided usually within 24 hours.
Who should take this test :
All middle-aged to senior citizens should take this test (or equivalent) at least once an year. Highly recommended for senior citizens, who are particularly susceptible to arthritis.
