Package Summary
Thyrocare Metabolic profile is one of Thyrocare’s most comprehensive preventive checkup for an individual who wants to check all blood pathology elements. It is a set of 14 profiles and 137 tests, which includes all sorts of blood tests which check every part of the body, including liver, kidney, blood, toxicity, bone and joint, vitamins, blood sugar, iron levels, and thyroid function.
Why is this test important :
A Metabolic Profile is done to learn about levels of
Glucouse,a type of sugar used by the body for energy,High glucose levels may point to diabetes.
Electrolytes, which help control the body’s fluid levels and its acid-base balance. Normal levels of these electrolytes help keep cells in the body working as they should.
comprehensive Blood counts or measurement of various elements in the blood, including oxygen carrying particles and immunity.
Iron deficiency, which is connected with anemia and growth factors.
lipids, (fats which indicate heart disease or heart attack)
liver, health which influences liver diseases like hepatitis and cirrhosis
kidney, blood urea nitrogen(Bun) and creatinine, which are waste product filtered out of the blood by kidneys. These show how well kidneys are working.
Thyroid hormones which effect many bodily functions.
Toxic elements, like trace metals in the blood, which can cause different kinds of impairment
Vitamin levels, which influence bone strength and iron deficiency.
Process :
These tests requires 10-12 hours of fasting (except water). The lab technician will collect blood sample from the patient. This will be processed in a lab and the report provided usually within 1-2 days.
Who should take this test :
All middle-aged to senior citizens should take this test (or equivalent) at least once an year.
