Today, stress has become an integral part of modern lifestyle and our well being is entirely dependent on how we manage it. So, next time when your problems are bugging you down, just take a deep breath and try one of these:

1. Rub your ears

Ayurveda, ancient Hindu science of health and medicine sates that our ears have marma points or acupuncture points. Rubbing your ears with your palms helps in decreasing stress.

2. Aromatherapy

Aromas of lemon balm, chamomile and geranium are known for their calming effects and taking a whiff in peak hours of tension will calm down your nerves.

Humming your favourite song or listening to music helps in relaxing tense muscles and it breaks the cycle by positively disrupting the thought process.

4. Yoga and meditation

Jotting down your sentiment reduces the amount of activity in the part of brain that deals with stress and stimulates emotional self control.

9. Have a hearty laugh

Next time when something is eating you from inside, read a comic strip. Even the expectation of a laugh boosts stress-busting hormones oxytocin and increases hormones that induce relaxation.

10. Vitamin C loaded fruit juice

Orange juice, lime juice or even a glass of lemon water loaded with vitamin C reduces the levels of cortisol in the blood, which may alleviate the body’s response to stress.
