- The easiest and most cost effective method to keep mosquitoes at bay is to slice 2 lemons into half and inserts 10 to 15 cloves in each half. Place them in your room and mosquitoes will stay away for good.
- Nothing looks better than a beautiful garden, so plant geranium or fresh lavender in your garden. It not only enhances the look of your house but also protects you from the attack of mosquitoes.
- Cinnamon oil is known to be effective against both the eggs as well as the adults of Asian tiger mosquito. Make a dilute solution using 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil and 20 ounce of water. Use it as a spray or lotion to keep those stingy creatures away.
- Since 1940, Lemon eucalyptus oil is known to be effective against multiple species of mosquitoes. A mixture of 32 percent lemon eucalyptus oil gives about 95 percent protection against mosquitoes for about three hours.
- Bathing with Citronella soap containing 80 to 100% citronella essential oil is known to provide very effective shield against mosquitoes.
