Granny has a solution for everything whether it is a persisting cough or the pesky breakthrough of nasty pimples and acne. Everybody wants to have a flawless, smooth skin and those small mounds of acne makes your skin more like a platform apt for a roller coaster ride.

Here are some tried and tested tips from my grandma’s diary which will restore your youthful skin and will help you in bidding adieu to acne:

1 Mask them with Honey and Oats

Honey is well known for its antibiotic properties and they help combating the stubborn acne bacteria. Mix honey and oatmeal in 1:1 ratio and make a thick mask. Apply it all over the face and wash it off with water after 30 years. Repeat this remedy every third day for about a month to get desired results.

2. Tea Tree oil

Numerous studies have verified anti inflammatory properties of tea tree oil and it is very effective against acne. Dilute tea tree oil before using, as it may cause excessive dry skin otherwise. Even used tea bags can be used to reduce inflammation, after refrigerating them and keeping them for about 15 minutes on the affected area.

3. Minting them out

Get rid of pesky acne’s by applying a concoction made by mixing mint, oatmeal and yoghurt in equal quantities. Wash this tingling concoction off your face, after 10 minutes of applying.

4. Witch craft

Wiping your face with a cotton swab of witch hazel, each morning and each night dries up the acne blemishes by shrinking them.

5. Ex-foliate with lemons

Dab acne with few drops of lemon juice, rinse with water after 15 minutes. This helps in ex-foliating dead cells, reducing pimple scars and also prevents new pimple formation.

6. Aloe Vera for a smooth skin

Aloe Vera helps reducing acne, as it fights infection and diminishes scars. You can use aloe vera gel by scooping it out from the insides of its leaves.

7. Chamomile

You can use contents of Chamomile tea bag and mix them with sufficient water to make a paste. Apply this paste on your acne, it reduces inflammation and helps in cleansing the skin.

8. Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar with water and apply it on your acne with cotton swab. Malic and lactic acids present in Apple cider vinegar reduces redness of acne and aids in curing them.

9. Papaya
It contains an enzyme called papain, which helps in controlling new breakthrough of pimples. It also reduces scars left by pimples.

10. Banana Peel

Never throw a banana peel if you have a pimple prone skin. Rub the insides of the peel on your face and leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

These grandma remedies are quite effective; the trick is bit of patience and consistency. So what are you waiting for, get going and bid good-bye to your acne and pimples.
