Hello, When you are allergic to a substance, its presence triggers the immune system to produce immunoglobulins at an increased rate. These reach our organs and cause a reaction in the skin, lungs, nose, throat, eyes etc causing symptoms like itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, stuffy nose, itchy throat, sometimes breathlessness, itchy red bumpy skin etc.  Repeated exposure to same allergen may result is release of histamine and activation of mast cells which increase the response and reaction to the known allergen.
