Can a thyroid problem affect cholesterol levels?

Yes. Thyroid levels can play a role in cholesterol levels. If thyroid levels are normal,cholesterol levels usually come down.

Thyroid has a very wide range of function and also one ofvthe organ which also controls over all metabolism of the body.
So any deviation from the normal limits has effect.Cholesterol level rises and do the chances of Cardiac problems.
