Menstrual irregularities are one of the most common physiological problems faced by many girls.

Menstrual irregularities –

. A menstrual cycle is series of monthly changes, which body of women goes through for the preparation of possible pregnancy. Menstrual cycle varies from 21 to 35 days.  Around 14 % of women face irregularities or excessive bleeding.

  1. Anovulatory – Irregular periods with excessive, minimal or absent of bleeding.
  2. An Ovulatory –   period that occurs in regular interval but characterized by a greater duration of bleeding it can be more than 7 days or just excessive bleeding.
  3. Dysmenorrhea- It is painful periods with severe menstrual cramp.

  • Eating disorder
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Perimenopause
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Medication like antipsychotic drug or antiepileptic drug
  • Advanced liver disease

  1. Unripe papaya – Papaya is considered to be useful in regulating menstrual flow because it helps to contract muscle fiber in the uterus.
  2. Aloe Vera- Aloe Vera helps in regulating hormone which can ease menstrual cycle. We can drink Aloe Vera juice for 3 months to get a better effect. Juice should not be consumed during periods
  3. Ginger- Ginger is highly effective in controlling the menstrual cycle and get rid of the menstrual pain. In this way, we can avoid scanty or delayed period.
  4. Jaggery and sesame seeds- Sesame seeds help to get rid of menstrual irregularities. Sesame seeds contain lignans It helps to bind excess hormone. Jaggery helps to regulate menstrual cycle because it is warm.
  5. Turmeric – Turmeric is helpful in balancing hormones and menstrual irregularities. It has an anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effect, which help to get rid of the menstrual pain.
