Being overweight is a risk factor for heart disease. There are other risk factors too.

Overweight increases sedentary lifestyle.Also there I dyslipedemia in the body such as high cholesterol and triglycerides. Overweight is the root causes of many problems such as Diabetes also.
All this results in Coronary Artery Diseases.
