Sweets are a small piece of confectionery which is made out of sugar.

How much is sugar safe for daily consumption?

According to the American heart association, the maximum amount of sugar which can be consumed are

Women-   37.5 gm (it gives 150 calories)

Men – 25 gm (it gives around 100 calories)

Various sweets which can be consumed on a daily basis

The sweets with low sugar or with natural fruit sugar can be consumed on daily basis.

 

  1. Till ka laddoo – home made till ka laddoo is healthy, for sweetness we can add jaggery or honey along with the till.
  2. Rice porridge or payasam – It is made up of rice and milk. We can add the sugar-free or little amount of sugar or jaggery or honey. We can add dry fruits like resin and date. This can be consumed in the breakfast or along with the lunch as dessert.
  3. Pudding – For making pudding milk, sugar and egg are used, it is healthy dessert can be consumed after dinner.
  4. Mango shrikhand- For making mango shrikhand use mango, yoghurt, cardamom, sugar or jaggery. It is healthy can be consumed as dessert after the main meal.
  5. Smoothie – Smoothie can be made from apple or grape or papaya or guava. It contains natural fruit sugar. It can be consumed in breakfast.
  6. Banana ice cream-  It is mainly made up of banana, milk and cream, sometimes few spoon of cocoa powder or peanut butter swirl is added. It can be consumed at dinner.
  7. Sorbet – homemade sorbet is the best sweet treat for us. It is low in calorie and safe to have.
  8. Baked apple- Stuffed apple can be baked. Apple can be stuffed with nuts, oats and honey for sweetness.
  9. Coconut barfi – It is made up of coconut, sweetened milk and green cardamom. It can be consumed as an evening snack.
  10. Gajar ka halwa – Carrot halwa or gajar ka halwa basically consist of carrot, milk little amount of ghee, sugar or sugar-free can be added.
  11. Besan ka laddoo – It is made up of besan, milk and sugar, it can be consumed as a snack in between the meal.
  12. Kulfi – Kulfi is made up of milk, sugar and another flavor like mango, badam- pasta, and orange. It can be consumed after dinner.
  13. Phirni – It consists of rice, sugar and nuts. It is a Mughal sweet, it can be consumed in lunch as dessert.
  14. Misti doi – It sweetened curd it can be consumed after any meal of the day.
  15. Kashi halwa – It is grated pumpkin halwa. It is healthy.
  16. Modak– It is made up of coconut jaggery stuffing, Maida flour. It is healthy. One modak in a day won’t harm anyone.

Finally, we can say, Sweets, are unavoidable. One sweet in a day as a snack or dessert won’t do any harm.
