DIETARY ADVISES FOR LEUCORRHEA
Leucorrhea can give bad smell comes out from the vagina which can affect the consummate life.
Leucorrhea-
Leucorrhea is thick yellowish or whitish discharge from the vagina.
Type of leucorrhea
I. Physiologic leukorrhea- It is referred leucorrhea due to physiological condition.
II. Inflammatory leucorrhea- It may occur due to the congestion or inflammation of the vaginal mucus. In this case, yellowish fluid is discharged, it gives a bad smell, in this time doctor recommendation is required. It can occur due to STD or aerobic virginities.
III. Parasitic leucorrhea – it may occur due to the trichomonads, it is a group of parasitic protozoan, especially trichomonas vaginitis. Common symptoms are burning sensation, itching and discharge of white or yellowish mucous
Cause of leucorrhea-
1. Urinary tract infection, it can be a vaginal, parasitic or fungal infection.
2. Poor hygiene and lack of cleanliness
3. Sexually transmitted disease
4. Diet low in nutrition
5. Use lubricant, gel, sprays
6. Irritation from the intrauterine contraceptive device
7. Hormonal imbalance
Symptoms of leucorrhea
a) Foul smelling vaginal discharge
b) Pain in stomach
c) Constipation
d) Headache
e) Pain in lumbar region

Diet for leucorrhea
1. Food should be included
a. Banana – Banana can be consumed with butter, it can be consumed in the breakfast and lunch
b. Cranberry juice- Cranberry juice consumption can prevent leucorrhea. Prevention is better than cure.
c. Fresh fruit – Fresh fruit like apple, guava, pineapple, can be consumed any time of the day. But the fruit should be fresh.
d. Yogurt- Fresh fruit can be consumed with the yogurt.
e. High fiber food – High fiber food like the sprout, nuts, green leafy vegetable, whole wheat bread, chapatti, brown bread can be consumed.
f. Balance diet- The diet should have enough carbohydrate, protein, and fat, mineral in the diet. The diet should be well balanced; it should satisfy daily calorie and nutritional need of the individual.
2. Food should be avoided
a. The food should be eliminated from the diet are eggs, meat, mushroom, bread, sweets and fermented food items.
b. Alcohol must be totally avoided.
c. Avoid heavy sour, spicy, oily and fried food.
d. Sugar must be avoided if the discharge is profuse.
e. Coffee, tea, aerated drink and non-vegetarian food should be avoided.
Other simple nutritional remedies
1. Rice water – take 3 spoons of rice and boil it. Then remove the water from the rice. Drink the water with sugar.
2. Coriander water- At night before napping add 2-3 spoon on coriander seeds in one glass of water, on waking drink the water along with the coriander seeds. Drink this water for 1 month.
3. Lemon water – In one glass of water add lime juice and drink lime water every day in the morning.
4. Turmeric and garlic mixture- Turmeric and garlic mixture can be consume which may reduce the inflammation
5. Fenugreek seed – In one liter water add 2-3 spoons of fenugreek seed and leave it for half an hour and drink it.
