Liver cancer treatment has many side effects like nausea, loss of appetite so it very important to have a balanced diet as it is very difficult to excrete chemicals and toxins out from the body and it causes discomfort, nausea and stomach so foods containing chemicals and processed foods must be avoided and try to include organic foods. Here are twelve dietary tips for liver cancer patients.

  • Fruits and Vegetables: Fruits and Vegetables contain phytonutrients which enhance immune system. It also contains antioxidant which helps to destroy cancer cells and also detoxification. Green veggies also contain sulforaphane which has anti-cancer effects. So inclusion of leafy greens, berries, melons, fruits like apple, orange, vegetables, dried fruits, fresh juice are the good choice for liver cancer patients.
  • Whole Grains: Cereals like brown rice, whole wheat pasta, bread, crackers, oatmeal, yogurt with wheat germ are rich in fibre, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals and these helps in building strong immunity which fights liver cancer during and after cancer treatment.
  • Proteins: Proteins helps in development of R.B.C, W.B.C, muscles and hormones so choose lean proteins like fish, beans, poultry and avoid fatty meats. Low-fat or non-fat dairy and products, nuts, legumes and soy foods are also good sources of protein.
