1. Dry Mouth
Decrease of the saliva build-up in the mouth causes you to have dry mouth. If you are constantly having dry mouth, your throat and mouth can be permanently damaged.
Dry mouth is often caused by the lack of water in your body. However, high intake of medicines may also cause less production of saliva in your mouth. That is why if you are constantly having dry mouth, you should always carry a bottle of water with you.

2. Color of the urine
The change in the color of your urine can be a major sign of dehydration. The color of your urine will be clear if you are well hydrated. However, if you are dehydrated, the color of your urine will change significantly.
You need to immediately start consuming larger amounts of water if the color of your urine keeps getting darker. See the picture below. You can notice that there are different colors of urine and every one of them indicates how well you are hydrated. As you can see if your urine is brown, that means that you are dehydrated.
However, you should not drink larger amounts of water in a small period of time, because you will get sick. You need to drink the water slowly in order for your body to gradually replenish the water in the required organs.

3. Hunger
The following time you have sudden hunger or food cravings, drink a glass of water before grabbing a snack. Your body sends false signals to your brain that you are hungry when dehydrated, but actually you are thirsty.
When you don’t consume enough water the body craves foods that are salty. To give you what you want and hydrate you can always drink a sports drink that contains sodium, or for a healthy choice, you can make your own by mixing juice from one lemon with a glass of water and one teaspoon of salt.
There are other people who crave sweet food when they are lacking water and this occurs when the body is having a hard time producing glycogen. When this occurs to you the best foods you can eat are watermelon, papaya or berries to get the sweet taste your craving and also receive the water your body needs.
