Gingivitis is an inflammation of gums, due to bacterial infection may be. If it is not treated in time it may cause a more serious disease called periodontitis. According to American Dental Association indicates that periodontitis and gingivitis are the main cause of the tooth loss in most adults.

Why gingivitis occur?

  • Poor diet having less or no Vitamin-C, B-Vitamins etc for prolong period of time.
  • Poor oral health: It means improper brushing for long period of time, which causes a bacterial layer of food on your gum., ultimately causes plaque formation, followed by inflammation of our gum. This is gingivitis.
  • Chewing tobacco for long period of time
  • Diabetes
  • Broken fillings of your teeth
  • Intake of certain medicine like steroids, chemotherapeutic medicines etc.
