Precautions We Should Take For Skin While Playing With Colors

The festival of colors – Holi is celebrated with full enthusiasm and happiness with lots of colors. However, this fun and joyous festival have its pros and cons as well. The colors used for celebrating the festival does not go off easily, taking out the colors is a task in itself. Plus some of the colors are not skin friendly as it contains toxic elements and synthetic dyes that are harmful. These problems can be avoided by taking some precautions to keep your body safe from the colors and enjoy the festive season without worries.

Precautions have to be taken before and after the holi.  Avoid facial treatments during the festive time. Before stepping out to celebrate the holi apply a layer of petroleum jelly or oil on the parts of the body that are exposed.  Use cold water to wash out the color. In the case of rashes or allergies consult a dermatologist. There is a list of options that you could try to get rid of colors and protect your skin.

Tips we should take for skin at the time of Holi:

  • A day prior to holi apply mustard oil to your body especially on hands, legs and face. Also, apply the oil on the hairs. The colors can be easily removed and it also protect your hairs from damaging.
  • If you do not like oil then you can try any cream lotion or sunscreen as it protects from chemical effects and does not allow the color to stay and stick on your Apply it near the eyes to protect it.
  • If color gets into your eyes then rinse it with clean water and put rose water to relax. Avoid rubbing your eyes as it may cause irritation.
  • If the color used during playing holi are hardcore and is not going off try to get it off by dipping a piece of cloth into kerosene oil rubbing it light handedly.

After playing holi, while bathing use multani mithi that is soaked over an hour ago. Apply it on skin, let it dry and later wash it off.  The pack will remove the color with ease.
