Panipuri is the best street food in India. Not only nationally but also Internationally Panipuri stole many hearts.

What is panipuri?

Panipuri means ‘’water bread’’. It is round, hollow, crisp and it is filled with flavoured water, chili, onion, potato, chaat masala, tamarind chutney.

The different name of panipuri –

  • North India – North India it is known as Gol gap pa.
  • East India – eastern part of India it is known as phuchka.
  • Haryana –it is known as paani ki pataashe.
  • Gujarat – It is known as pakodi.
  • Jharkhand – It is known as Gup chup

How panipuri is made –                    

How puri is made?      

1 cup semolina is mixed evenly with1 tsp oil, 1/4 tsp salt, 4 pinches baking soda. Then it is deep fried.

Ingredients-

  1. 1 medium onion
  2. ½ cup sev
  3. ¼ tamarind chutney

Ingredients for water or pani –

  1. ½ cup mint leaves
  2. 4 cup water
  3. 3 tablespoon sugar
  4. ½ cup coriander leaves chopped
  5. 5 medium-size lemon
  6. 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  7. 1-2 green chilli
  8. ¼ black salt
  9. Salt to taste

Ingredients of masala –

  1. 2 tsp coriander leaves
  2. Cumin – coriander powder
  3. 1/2cup boiled kale chana
  4. ¼ cup chaat masala
  5. ½ cup red chilli powder
  6. Salt

Methods for pani/ water –

Rinse coriander mint leaves in water and to take all the ingredients of pani/water. Add lemon juice, ginger, green chilli, coriander leaves, mint leaves in a grinder and mix them well.  Grind till a smooth paste is formed and then add a little water, black salt, chaat masala powder.

Methods for Masala –

Mix smashed potato with kale channa, red chilli powder, chaat masala powder, cumin-coriander powder .coriander leave, salt

Assembling puri with masala and pani-

Whole is made in puri and masala is placed within it, thereafter stuffed puri is served with pani.

  6. Panipuri is easily digestible as it does not contain any heavy ingredients.
